Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Development Coordinator (the Admin) provides a wide range of complex administrative support to members of the Annual Fund and Major Gifts teams, who are responsible for raising approximately $6M annually in unrestricted resources for the Law School. The Admin will prepare reports and outgoing materials, coordinate regular mailings, draft general correspondence, and support the management of the Fund Board (the Law Schools volunteer fundraising board), including scheduling calls, compiling agendas for Board and committee meetings, and coordinating meeting requests. The Admin will run reports utilizing the University's alumni/development information systems; use queries on Yale's Blackbaud CRM database and extract relevant data subsets; take existing information and create and manipulate reports including complex Excel reports; compile and gather data; prepare and code reports which may include statistical information; update prospect and donor information in the database; record, process, and disseminate gift information as appropriate; researches donor and gift questions. The Admin will secure back-up documentation from files/electronic database; schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings and conference calls; contact donors/alumni as requested by gift officers; provide information to donors when appropriate; greet donors and visitors to the office; maintain prospect files; assist with administrative tasks related to event planning; complete all administrative tasks related to briefings, and as needed, assist in preparation of briefings; maintains confidentiality of information contained in proposals, and conversations with and about, donors; and performs other clerical work as needed, including backing up other assistants and teams during absences, vacations, and as requested due to workload considerations.
1. Drafts a variety of written materials, including detailed individual prospect briefings and gift indentures, proposals in support of specific University initiatives and internal and external correspondence that conforms to the style and voice of the sender. 2. Coordinates research on individual donors and the history and status of gift commitments as needed by gift officers and other University officials. Ensures the accuracy of gift acknowledgments and all information communicated to donors and prospects. 3. Prepares reports on prospect pools summarizing giving, status, affiliation and other data points, as needed. 4. Assists in the coordination of special events, including dedications, donor recognition events and celebration of special initiatives to ensure timely and successful completion of the proceedings. 5. Designs and produces ad hoc reports based on data extracted from primary databases to support fund raising programs. 6. Oversees stewardship functions to ensure that donors receive ongoing communication regarding the benefits of their gifts to Yale. 7. Supports fundraising directors and gift officers in a range of additional activities related to the Universitys development effort, as needed. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Excellent computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated experience with Blackbaud or a similar CRM database.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree and at least two years in a university or executive setting. Development/fundraising, customer service, and event planning experience.
