Responsible for the daily management and operation of producing Silicone products. This includes EHS, housekeeping, raw material management, intermediate product inventory management, manpower control, product quality, productivity and cost control. Production will operate on a 8 hour 5 day basis with OT assignment as needed.
Responsible for all Operators in the manufacture and packaging of Silicone products.
Insure daily coordination of raw material deliveries to the department to maintain adequate inventory levels for a 1 shift operation (including weekends if needed).
Responsible for insuring operators perform their jobs in a safe manner following all prescribed safety and quality practices of Sika Corporation.
Lead the daily cell team to insure product availability to our customers and resolve internal issues which limit our ability to achieve that goal.
Manage all personnel issues (vacation scheduling, sick day monitoring, etc.) following the human resource policies.
Maintain department performance statistics as identified by the Plant Manager including production volumes, labor hours worked, O/T labor hours, department project hours, OEE measurements etc.
Investigate and document all safety and environmental incidents in the department under the direction of the Plant Manager
Participates in all plant initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, and Problem Solving Teams etc. in upgrading the performance of the plant.
Directs and communicates department activities across the plant and responsible for reviewing of the shift performance.
Management of all material destruction notices, rework product activities, shop order variance reporting, product yield monitoring and reporting etc.
Maintain operating knowledge (including the issuance of S.O.Ps) in regards to all production and auxiliary equipment involved in manufacturing.
Responsible to act in the role of Plant manager in regards to employee evacuation and contacting police/fire department personnel in case of an emergency. Notification of Plant Manager for assistance and direction.
Training of Operators in the performance of their responsibilities including following all safety and quality procedures established in the department.
Responsible for the performance of all safety equipment. Initiates required work orders to maintain equipment operability.
Coordinate the production schedule as directed by the Plant Manager in reaching the production objectives of the department.
5+ years experience in chemical process industry and/or manufacturing environment, including first line supervisory experience in a union environment.
Experience with packaging equipment a very big plus
Good written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Project Management Techniques (Microsoft Project)
Leadership and integrity, managers by fact, building teams, and achieving results.
Ability to function in a fast paced environment. Capable of changing priorities as conditions dictate
PC computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required
SAP knowledge required
Able to function in a team driven organization using matrix management
