Pursuant to MV's desire to continue to grow within the transportation industry, and maintain its current footprint in the transportation space which includes fixed route and paratransit operations, college and corporate shuttles and school bus transportation. MV is seeking to hire an individual in the role of Director of Business Development. In addition to base pay this position qualifies for sales commission which is subject to change based on Company policy.
The Director of Business Development is a sales position for MV's business development team. The successful candidate must have experience in passenger transportation management, and possess a clear understanding of how transit operations work.
This position serves as the on-site field researcher for new or existing business - attending pre- bid conferences, riding buses/routes as needed to determine key data, meeting with agencies, identifying facilities, taking photos and learning about specific transit systems. This person attends client hosted meetings, analyzes the opportunity, and contributes to MV's ability to develop unique strategies.
The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills; a strong financial and budgetary background is required. Also, must work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment. Extensive travel is mandatory.
The candidate must possess project management skills, must work well with internal and external contacts, and be flexible, proactive, responsive, and efficient. They must appropriately and professionally represent the Company at all times.
This person works with the Business Development team and reports to the Senior Vice President of Business Development or Sales Project Lead, who administers field assignments to perform ground research.
