Our Client is seeking an experienced Production Managerbased in High Point, NC to join their team.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, and as a key member of the North Carolina production team this role will see your time divided between both tactical and strategic functions. Leading and managing a 24/7 batch chemical manufacturing plant (which works two x 12 hours shifts per day, with a total of four rotating shifts in all) that employs approximately 40 production employees you will manage, mentor and lead a dynamic and hardworking group. Having one direct report, a Production Team Lead, you are a strong team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Position Responsibilities:

Lead a production team in a 24/7 batch chemical manufacturing plant and manage the Production Department in accordance with safety, cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and labor

Ensures compliance with plant safety and environmental programs

Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, with consideration to budgetary limitations and time constraints.

Review operations and cooperate with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.

Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.

Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.

Prepare and maintain production reports.

Set and monitor product quality standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.

Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.

Partner with the R&D Process/ Product Development team as new Processes are rolled out for scale up in the plant

You Bring:

Experience - Minimum 10 years experience in chemical manufacturing, with 5 years employed as a Production Manager.

Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent

Knowledge - Solid understanding of supply chain and raw material reliability/quality

Skills - Excellent computer skills, to include familiarity with Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical abilities, good problem-solving skills. Strong team player.
