Member organization for independent pharmacies seeks an experienced director of communications to support the organization and its membership. College degree or equivalent work experience required. Successful candidate must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills and be able to handle projects independently and as part of a team.


  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 required.
  • Experience with desktop publishing software (e.g., Microsoft Publisher, PagePlus, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Experience with association management software a plus.
  • Experience with Internet-based teleconferencing software a plus.

The successful candidate, as directed, will serve as director of communications for the organization. In that capacity, the director will


  • Serve as chief information officer for the organization
  • Serve as managing editor of the organization s weekly update and monthly newsletter
  • Maintain and manage the organization s association management software
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the organization s website and social media presence
  • Plan, coordinate and execute all aspects of the organization s annual meeting
  • Plan, coordinate and execute all aspects of the organization s professional, business, and general interest programming
  • Assist with preparing and editing documents, programs, presentations and other content to support the organization s goals and objectives
  • Serve as staff liaison for information technology (hardware and software) used to support APSC programs and services
  • Perform other administrative assistance and duties as requested by the executive vice president
